The PREPA 13th edition took place this year in Louvain-La-Neuve, Belgium, from the 9th to the 13th of July. This time, the international symposium aimed to focus on Scientific bases for the Preparation of Heterogeneous Catalysts. The main shared topics covered the synthesis and characterization of catalytic materials, in particular Innovative approaches in catalyst preparation for specific performance, advanced preparations of catalysts and supports, and key concepts and tools in catalyst preparation.
From the STORMING side, Ilenia Giarnieri, from the Institute of Industrial Chemistry of Bologna, took part in a poster session, exposing the involved catalysts synthesis method and characterization techniques. The congress hosted different plenary conferences, keynotes, and oral communications, and it came as an opportunity to strengthen relations between companies and academics in the Catalysis sector.
In her role on the project, Ilenia focuses on the preparation of different catalyst compositions, varying the quantity of active phase, and on the catalytic tests to evaluate both hydrogen and carbon nanotube production.
